“WHAT IS TEAM DEVELOPMENT AND WHY IS IT IMPORTANT?” oach*Ability offers services for a group of individuals that want to function as a high-performing team. Whether it’s a group of administrators, coaches or athletes, Coach*Ability will facilitate workshops, clinics and team-building activities to enhance collaboration, innovation and performance.

“WHAT HAPPENS IN A TEAM DEVELOPMENT SESSION?”

Coach*Ability consultants understand that teams develop chemistry over time and that there are multiple pathways to reach their destination. Coach*Ability consultants will customize and facilitate programming that will allow team members to define goals, establish roles, recognize personality traits, anticipate adversity, and gain awareness of the team’s strengths and areas for improvement. Through the process, the team will understand that success is not solely based on X’s and O’s or the specific skills of its members, but also on the team’s group dynamics.

Coach*Ability will engage team members in challenging tasks, creating scenarios where they will struggle, fail, regroup, persevere, and finally succeed at the goal at hand. Team members will brainstorm solutions, work together to develop a plan of attack, listen to each other, consider ideas, and praise and encourage each other. Activities will demonstrate the importance of each team member because everyone must meet the challenge before the team can succeed.

Coach*Ability connects effective “coaching” with “ability”, so that individuals, teams, and organizations can reach optimal levels of success. According to research, the benefits of implementing a long term team development program are:

  • To establish effective leadership
  • To identify and accept roles and responsibilities of team members
  • To understand the dedication level of its team members and the effort towards collective achievement
  • To improving efficient output and reduce negative influences
  • To improve communication, decision making, build trust and achieve common team goals
